Stanford R. Plavin, MD

As Chief Anesthesia Officer, Dr. Plavin leads the clinical vision for Azura Anesthesia Partners, guiding anesthesia quality, safety, and program development across Azura's national network of ambulatory surgery centers. He brings more than 20 years of experience delivering safe, high-quality sedation and general anesthesia care in hospital operating rooms, ambulatory surgery centers, and office-based settings. A Board Certified anesthesiologist, he completed his anesthesiology residency at Emory University Affiliated Hospitals and earned his medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine.

Dr. Plavin is a nationally and internationally recognized lecturer on office-based anesthesia, patient selection, infection control, and sedation practices. He is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society for Ambulatory Anesthesia, and the International Anesthesia Research Society. His practice philosophy centers on personalized patient care, and that same philosophy shapes the Azura Anesthesia Partners model: experienced providers, rigorous safety standards, and a positive experience for every patient.
