Interventional Nephrology Fellowships

The fellowship is currently offered at our centers in Brooklyn and Manhattan, NY, with plans underway to expand to additional locations. The program includes:

  • One year of intensive didactic and hands-on training, covering: 
    • Normal and Variant Anatomy of Vascular Access
    • Imaging and Radiation Safety
    • Sedation and Analgesia
  • Two subsequent years of clinical practice, including a proctored component to ensure comprehensive skill development and confidence in outpatient interventional procedures.

This structured, multi-year approach has proven to be a vital pipeline for developing highly skilled interventional nephrologists who support Azura Vascular Care’s continued growth and commitment to excellence.  This program is designed for driven and compassionate nephrologists,. The fellowship provides a unique opportunity to advance professional development while significantly improving outcomes for patients. It is ideal for physicians seeking to expand their expertise in a dynamic and impactful subspecialty.

In addition, our Arlington, VA center has an Interventional Radiology (IR) fellowship affiliated with Georgetown University.

 

Candidate Profile
This fellowship is tailored for nephrologists with a strong interest in becoming Interventional Nephrologists. Most participants begin the program with limited or no prior experience in outpatient interventional vascular procedures, making it an ideal entry point into the field.

Applications open in August for the following year’s program. The review process begins in October, with interviews conducted between December and January. Final selections are made by March.
